Playster Streaming Service to Offer Simon & Schuster Ebooks

Playster, the digital multimedia streaming platform, will now offer ebooks from Simon & Schuster.

playster-websitePLAYSTER, A DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA STREAMING PLATFORM, has announced a content deal with one of the world’s largest book publishers, Simon & Schuster. The agreement provides unlimited access to a vast number of bestselling backlist ebook titles from the publisher’s U.S. and international catalog.

In a statement, Erika Khanna, spokesperson for Playster said: “Simon & Schuster is one of the preeminent publishers of books around the world. This agreement provides thousands of additional titles, all with unlimited access, to Playster subscribers and helps position our service as one of the most robust catalogs of books on demand available.”

The agreement includes such popular titles as Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls, Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. The agreement with Simon & Schuster adds thousand of additional titles to the Playster library that also includes titles from HarperCollins Publishers and Harlequin.

Digital Book World reported that: “The first book publisher to partner with Playster, HarperCollins added 14,000 back-list titles to the Montreal-based subscription service last month. Currently in beta, Playster offers unlimited access to catalog featuring a range of entertainment media, including TV, movies, games and ebooks, for $15.95 a month.”

The content will be ad-free and work on virtually any Internet-enabled device. Playster promises that its service has unlimited potential and will continually evolve to “provide its community with new content, features and device compatibility.” >>SOURCE
